Evaluation Procedures and Reforms

Scheme of examination:

  • After introduction of Semester system, the Scheme of Examination was divided into internal and external examination under the ratio 30:70. 
  • At present under CBCS the Semester Examinations are conducted under the ratio 30:70. 30% of marks are allotted for internal examination and 70% is allotted for External examinations for Theory.A Candidate should qualify a minimum of 30% in each theory papers and practical papers to qualify a general pass.


 

Internal Evaluation – (30Marks)

Two Internal Assessment Tests will be conducted and the average of the two will be taken    into consideration.

  •  For Internal Assessment Test     :  20 marks
  • Assignment                                  :  5 marks
  • Attendance*                                 :  5 marks

 Total                                          :  30 marks

          Pass marks  (30%)                  : 12 marks


 

External Evaluation – (70Marks)

  • Semester end examination        : 70 marks (Pass marks- 28)
  • Practical examinations               : 50 Marks (Pass marks- 20)

Marks allotted for Attendance* (as per the percentage of attendance)

If percentage of attendance is > 90 :   O. Grade

                                                  80 to 90  :     A. Grade

                                                  70 to 80 :       B. Grade

                                                  60 to 70 :      C. Grade

                                                  50 to 60   :    P. Grade

II.Rules for students:

The Students are governed by the rules and regulations framed    by the Examination Section  of this College.

1.      75% attendance both in theory and practical courses (wherever applicable) is mandatory for candidates to be eligible to appear for the semester examination.

2.      After the semester system was introduced, examinations for I, III and V Semesters are held in October/November each year. Examinations for II, IV & VI Semesters are held in March/April every year.

3.      Registration for examinations: All students undergoing regular courses of study have to register for every semester exam by paying the requisite exam fee, filling the examination form and obtaining the hall ticket before appearing for the said exam.

III. Responsibilities of  examination branch:   

1.      Prepares Academic Calendar for odd and even semesters, examination time table of internal all semesters.

2.      Processing of examination application forms and issue of hall tickets which was received from Controller Examinations of Rayalaseema University Kurnool  to the students.

3.      Conducts the regular semester examinations(both internal & external) and also the backlogs of all semester    The examination Section  looks after the payment of remuneration to the examiners, payment towards stationery etc., purchased for the examination branch.

4.      The Examination Section to receive Question paper from Controller Examinations of Rayalaseema University Kurnool to Conduct as per Schedule  also looks after the exams related to the Rayalaseema university(like B.Ed) and  other competitive exams for Govt. jobs conducted by APPSC, SSC etc.,

5.      Semester and Consolidated Memorandum of Marks is issued by the Examination Branch. Under CBCS, the Memorandum of Marks /Grade Report is issued at the end of each semester to the student reflecting the marks, credits and grade letter in each paper.

6. Examination Paper Spot Valuation  held by Controller Examinations of Rayalaseema University Kurnool which Notified Places in Government Degree Colleges in jurisdiction of Rayalaseema University  Kurnool.
