The Department of Chemistry was started in 1989 with two groups B.Sc. BZC and B.Sc. MPC with humble strength of 30 students in each group. The Department has separate building with equipped laboratory. The Department produced many graduates with high skills in chemistry for the last 32 years. The department is maintaining the average result more than 80% which is more than the pass percentage of Rayalaseema University. At present The Department has around 151 students .Students are admitted as per reservation rules and the admission process is conducted by APSCHE and Govt. of A.P. through online mode. Most of the students are SC, ST, BC with rural background and marginal sections. The department sent many graduates to reputed higher educational institutions and to higher positions in various fields.

            The Department has well qualified teaching staff . The Staff are selected by Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission through written and oral interview , Minimum qualification prescribed is M.Sc with NET or PhD as per the guidelines of UGC
